What does venting mean?

So I have two oscars that are around 1.5 yrs old and 9-11" one is a tiger one is a lutino oscar. The latter has laid eggs muliple times but nothing has come from the spawns. They both guard the eggs. so I know venting is a way to determine gender in a fish and I know the area to look but what exactly are you looking for? How do you tell?

Just wondering how to tell the sex of my Oscar I've been told a couple of ways like the size of the dorsal fin and anal fin and a friend has told me only the male's shake their tail in that fast up and down thing they do and don't know how much truth is in it any help would be great

You can net them and turn upside down or try to get a shot of them facing vertically up to the glass. Net is probably easier.

It means going on the internet and ranting about your daily life using all caps and lots of exclamation points. For example:

"I ASKED FOR 3 CREAMERS IN MY COFFEE THIS MORNING AND STARBUCKS ONLY GAVE ME TWO!!!! GRRRRRR HULK SMASH!!!!!"

Or you could be talking about feeling up a fish to determine what gender they are which you do WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT!! GRRRRRR HULK SMASH!!!!!
