What eats algae?...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ive heard ... and seen mollies pick away at the acursed hair algae

I will add a few mollies then, just for good measure. But I am really looking for an all-time algae consumer. (I think I've found it - otto's)

How well do they keep it down? Hair algae and all? What about on the glass?

A pink kisser will take care of algae on the glass, but I don't know how well they do with plants. It may be okay if you keep the kisser full, though. I don't know. I never kept a kisser in a planted tank.

You may try and buy a slew of ghost shrimp. You fish will eat them though.

kissers like slim coats from what ive seen

Cyanobacteria or BGA should be removed manually. Nothing will eat BGA as it is toxic. Address what is causing your algae problems. What fish do you have and what size is the tank?

The algae came in on plants. All taken care of now...
