What eats (tree) leaves?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
In my tanks, bushynose pleco and Farlowella cf acus.
In nature, possibly a number of species.
Leaves are dry Magnolia grandiflora. Leaf on left about to enter 125g tank containing 2 plecos; leaf of right after 1 week. I maintain 6-8 leaves in each 125g tank, 5-6 in each 75g, and 4-5 in each 40g.

Pretty much every armored catfish I've owned has eaten leaves. There's some American cichlids that naturally eat decaying leaves as well, like herichthys bartoni or amatitlania sajica
