Are you saying in a 100 gallon tank I could put a GT, JD, con, nic, and severum? I'm pretty naive about stocking monsters but putting all these guys together seems risky to me...

I personally wouldn't be afraid of that(but that's me). But if you want to be safe, add the jd and maybe the sev. Every nic I've ever had was nippy.
 
Okay thanks for the help. I'm not even sure I can find a sexed nic locally so I'll scratch that.

I think I have a stocking list! (all males) and remember this is a 5' 100g tank not a 6'....

- GT
- con
- JD
- severum
- 6 tiger barbs

I'm thinking about swapping the sev for a red oscar if I can't find any sevs locally. Decisions, decisions!
 
finding a green/turquoise severum will be easy, but other sevs can be a little difficult to find. the stocklist you have sounds fine to me, but an O might get a little too big with all the other fish in there. too bad you can't get a tank a little bit bigger and put a datnoid in there instead of one of the cichs.
 
Yeah I wish I could go bigger (like 180!) but I live in a mobile home and don't want to risk it. It would be really difficult to access the underside of my home to reinforce the floor, so I have to keep the tank size relatively small.
