I am feeding my eel frozen blood worms because it seems he won't eat pellets, and I don't think frozen blood worms have a lot of nutrients for my eel. What else do zig zag eels eat?

Pretty much anything mentioned above. I have found the frozen bloodworms to be a decent staple if they refuse all other food, but it is definitely best to get them eating other foods.
Red wigglers are a really good option because they can stay alive under water for a few days.

It should be able to eat red wigglers, especially if you pick through and get some of the small ones.
If you keep feeding it pellets and not bloodworms, it'll eventually get hungry and figure out that the pellets are food. It would still be a good idea to give it frozen/live food once in a while as a treat though.
Although, my Spiny eel seems to eat anything. I've even caught it eating a leaf of my jungle Val on video once.
