I caught him at a fishing lake, and I've only fed him bloodworms so far, but what else can I feed him? I have heard of the commonly sold shrimp. What should I do to the shrimp to make it edible for the crayfish? Anything else for him to eat? Thanks.

:ROFL:That's true. I also caught a smaller crayfish with him, but he literally crushed it in half....I have pics, but not necessary to post them. (Learned to keep crayfish alone the hard way).

I was thinking I could also feed him dwarf african frogs, or bamboo shrimp (occasionally). But bamboo shrimp=7 bucks=expensive feeder.

Well you can drop it into the tank. Despite the look of those fearsome claws, he can't get them out of the freezer without your help.

Hahaha....but really, do I need to wash it or deshell it or something?

You can buy pellets suitable for crayfish. My crays love them. And they like to chase small fish around and have a snack on them also.

Frozen silversides, any fish you can buy raw from the supermarket, you can deshell the shrimp, or pull them out when it's done. Mine will pretty much eat anything, literally. So just drop it in and wait, or you can put it on a skewer and target feed.:naughty:

they will eat most prepared foods like shrimp pellets, so feeding them definitely will not be a problem.
