If you want something a bit different to cories you could have some hera jerdoni. These are really tiny catfishes

I also think a betta splendens or another small betta would work

I would go with 3 albino corys. 1 which is 2-3" and 2 smaller ones 1" or less. I have 6 albino corys right now and 1 pepper. Corys have alot of personality.

Do not add a betta or a paradise fish to a tank with gouramis, mixing labyrinth fish is most definitely not a good idea, especially in a tank as small as a 20. It's usually hatred on first sight.

That list sounds nice i already got the fish though I now have in my tank:

1 Blue Gourami
1 Balloon Molly ( Which I'll never buy another one of agian)
2 German Blue Rams
1 Bristle Nose Pleco
6 Neon tetras

And thats my 20 Gallon

looks good. the only thing to be wary of is if the rams decide to breed they may start harassing the other fish. glad you didn't go w/ the zebra danios. in my experiance anything smaller then 6+ and they can be tyrants in a tank. mollys do prefer abit of salt in their water. but with the neons, don't do it. just watch out for any bacteria infections that could possibly happen with the molly.

The only luck I have had with Mollies have been wild caught ones down here. I cant kill those. The blue gourami can be kind of agressive as communtiy fish go so watch him. Mine has harrassed to death a pearl, moonlight and another blue/marbled one.

You are definitely done stocking now, right? No more fish, but get some aquatic plants (real ones are best, Java Fern) & another 20G filter. You will need more water flow with the bioload you have in there. Your fish need more hiding places.
