What else could be white stringy poo?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My fish will get it when they are stressed. Then it's all better in a day or so. Just like we get the "runs" from time to time. It's kind of like that. If it is something that happens all the time and for months straigt at a time then worry. But if it's every now and then and passes don't worry to much about it.

ya my jag just came down with it. ive had it happen sometime back and a single does of jungle parisite clear took care of it.

yeah well with the female it is just every couple of days but with the male its always white though consistency changes, so thats why i just went ahead and got them both out of the big tank and am going to treat them both, im planning on starting the treatment today so hopefully that takes care of everything...

the female was being fed with the some of the same pellet i feed (not sure on what its called but the lfs uses it and sells it), no clue on what the male was fed as i got him from petsmart, but currently i feed several different types of pellets (hikari gold, the lfs pellet, sinking shrimp pellets, and sometimes broken up algae wafers) i also feed freeze dried shrimp every now and then and frozen brine shrimp, i feed 2x daily usually a little mixture of all the different pellets, they werent only ones in big tank as i have several grow outs in there right now but they are the only ones showing this which is why i separated them now, but iv had them for about 3-4 months now its just when i first got them i didnt really look for parasites

Good luck it should clear up soon.

this is why I love MFK; this post totally adresses the problem I am having right now, except instead of a GT I have a gymno w/ white stringy-poo. but same thing, everyone is eating normally, no other indications of a problem

I was already leaning towards doing a course of Jungle Parasite Clear - - on the whole tank - - but this thread has helped support my decision . . .
