What else should I get?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Okay, here's a breakdown of all the problems you have in your current stock:

-The pacu will eat the pike, the bichir, and possibly the cat as well.
-If the pacu doesn't get to them, the channel cat will after a while
-The pacu will grow until it gets deformed and stunted, unless you do a major size upgrade in the next couple months
-The channel cat will do the same, but at a slower rate
-Ditto for the pleco
-The JD and pike will probably fight incessantly as they mature
-The pacu will hog everything else's food even after it appears to be full, so you will have to intentionally overfeed
-The bioload will be insane once everything is fully grown, and no amount of filtration will be able to cope with it

So, I'd say if you want more fish either rehome the fish you have, or buy multiple tanks ranging from about 75-450 gallons to properly house all of your current fish.

Or just stop trolling

Get a school of Pacus, silver arowana, Red tail cat, Alligator gar and a pair of Motoro stingrays. and get an Emperor cichlid while ur at it.

that wouldnt physically fit, there would be more fish than water! rotfl
seriously though i am not trolling i know i am techically overstocked but i dont care. my fish are happy and if my pacu gets too big i will cook it and eat it. if my cat gets too big i will either eat it or dig a pond.

a lot of people on this forum are anal about overstocking when people like arapaimag and that guy on animal planet are way overstocked with like 2-3 arapaima, crap load of red tails, and god knows how many datnoids. all i want is opinions on my "little" 55 gallon

p.s. what are emperor cichlids?

You are comparing keeping fish that range from 4-9' in a footprint of 918sq.ft vs. keeping a fish that will get to over 1ft in a 4sq.ft. tank. For this comparison to be remotely accurate, arapaimag would have to be keeping whale sharks...

That's what the problem is. You don't care. It doesn't matter what we say to you, you'll just got get some more fish anyway. My suggestion to you is to start caring. Then research the fish you already have and go from there. Either re-home the fish you have or house them appropriately. Until then don't come to MFK and expect people to give you suggestions on what fish to add to your already over populated tank because it won't happen.

i dont

know what trolling is im just looking for help. i guess ill have to bleach all my fish and get guppies.

What part of telling you you re way overstocked is not helpful? Y

What part of telling you you re way overstocked is not helpful? You say you don't care about being overstocked but you start a thread asking a stocking question?

This is pretty much the definition of Trolling.

If you don't care, then we certainly don't either.
