What about brachyrhamdia meesi? Smaller schooling catfish.

They do draw my attention but arent they schooling catfish and similar to corys?..

I would prefer not to get a school of another fish and maybe get 1-3 catfish from SA. I feel like so many synodontis would work so well but in the back of my mind I couldn't do it with my ocd having this tank strictly SA lol

I added the java fern today since I noticed the algae disappeared completely bc of the double dose I had in the bucket. Theres cover but it seems to have enough open space for me to be able to see hiding catfish lol aka (jaguar cat) lol well at least for now until the java fern grows in more which I would prob pick out the baby extensions reguardless.

Tank is looking great!

If it was me, I would add a smaller pleco (gold or albino so that it stands out against the wood or background)

I feel they play a really important role as they stir corners and crevices that otherwise go undisturbed by other fish and keep bio film and algae from covering your driftwood, rocks and background.

Heres some old pics of my 125 before I got a single bristlenose for reference. (I'm constantly changing thing around but I never bother to scrub the background or driftwood)
