not huge on the sump filters.. but haveing the bio-media submerged may be where your coming into people conflicting about the efficency of the filtration. It looks pretty good to me. 'cept your bio is pulling O2 from your water not the atmosphere so it may not be working as efficently as possible. Not sure how you'de fix it if you wnated to even. But if your water perameters are testing well then imo I'de leave it. If not i'de tweek it abit.
But I would say if you got rid of the pleco and your water tested well w/ everything 0 'cept your nitrates being consistantly kept in the 20ppm or less range silver dollars would be a nice addition to your system. 30% should also be sufficent otherwise I would simply add another 30% WC weekly not extend the one you do. ie do 30% like wed and saturday... not 60% on saturday. Looks like a nice set-up overall. and I see why you'de wanna keep the Oscar. he's a nice one.
