So I've decided on having an African Brown Ghost Knife, Senegal Bichir, and an African Bfly fish in my 55. They'll all be coming in at around 3-5". My question is what would go well in this African themed tank to add some movement to it for the mid-level? Something that wouldn't have to be moved to a bigger tank before its life was over, or at least not for a long time.

Thanks!

Leopard bushfish would look nice to that setup. I'm kinda worried about the sene might attack the African butterfly fish when the get to it's max size.

my sen isn't full grown yet but it is 8ish inches and it never even looks at the butterfly fish

I would think African Cichlids would be too aggressive for the rest of the inhabitants.

check the cichlid section for riverine species of cichlids an avoid male and female pairs. Also go thru the primer there a list of some possible tankmates -Anne

hmm, since Congos are tetra, would that constitute them as fin-nippers? If so, that would be bad new for the ABF.

I don't think Congos are as nippy as others, or as bad as the various nippy barb species.

As for African cichlids, I'd think a kribensis would work. Very colorful and relatively peaceful when not kept as a pair.
