What Exactly Are Faders ? When can you Classify your fish a fader ? ....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Those are faders. A fader is a fish that fades, (changes colour), like a midas. (they change when they hit "fish puberty")

I always thought that a jin kang had to be a fader like this
http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124396
with a body that is half red or purple and half yellow or gold.
I could be wrong though, these days it looks like the term "jin kang" is used to describe any old fader, even crappy midevil hybrids. Does anybody know what "jin kang" actually translates to? All i can figure out is that its also a guy's name

And how do you tell a jing kang from a fader ?
A JK IS a fader.
Dont let many different names fool you. Theyr as simple as cross breeds.
A fader is a fish that loose their dark pigments having only light colors like white, yellow, orange, and red. Anyone know of the color wheel? Only light colors and rid of the dark pigments in their skin. the fish in my avater is a fader in process. He's pushing off dark pigments right now.

Fader = Axanthis and xanthic.

Agree with the first part, which was already covered, but do not agree with the following.

Fader = Axanthis and xanthic

Both of those terms have to do with the yellow pigment, the first a lack of, the second being a predominantly yellow color morph. While those terms may be accurate for some faders, fader FH can come in many color morphs that are neither axanthis, or xanthic.
