What filter do you recommend???

I would go with an AC110 if you had to have a HOB filter... Otherwise an eheim classic of some sort would be nice.

I'm loking for a filter to replace my Whisper powerfilter 60 and was wondering if anybody could give me some suggestions. Should I buy another powerfilter 60 or should I get an AC 110 or something else? I'm looking for something that runs as quiet as possible.

Thanks for the input....I have a cannister already, but I want to run 2 filters.

ac110 is 10x more quiet compared to whisper60 had them both and prefer the ac's

I had an Aqueon that ran pretty quiet but I did chuck it for a canister which I run exclusively. I think its all really going to be opinion, some people are more sensitive to noise than others and if someone tells you what HOB filter to get more than likely you may end up disagreeing.

Honestly I would say that if you absolutely must have two filters running just get another canister filter.

Would be helpful to know for what reason you want another filter(more flow, more media, proper circulation etc.) and what you already have running for the canister.

If you want something quiet, you don't want an HOB. How big is the tank?

Canisters are pretty much superior in every way.

I've got an AC110 on a 75 (also has a sump) it is a powerful filter, but its noisy. I also have 2 fluval 404s on another tank...they are almost silent.


but if you do get an HOB, aquaclears are the best choice IMO

I have a fluval 404 running already. I'm looking for the 2nd filter to keep it cleaner and help with circulation.
