i dont use filters. i just keep a straw next to the tank, and blow some bubbles into it once a week
How long of straws and do you use the large diameter "McDonalds" type?
How often do you have to do S/C's...

225g-Wet/Dry, 90g, w/UV, 3600gph pump and 1000 scrubbies.
120g-Wet/Dry, 20g, 780gph pump
46g-Cascade 1500 canister stuffed with Scrubbies,
Marineland dual bio wheel return.

Might be converting over to Straws like bitteraspects, we'll see how it goes and who I can get to blow my tanks...:naughty:

because i have been using the straw method for many years, i am a bit more experienced with them. because of this, i use different straws for different tanks, ranging from a coffee stirrer in my nano tanks, to a bubble tea straw for my tanks 6' and over.

if you want a good universal straw, i would go with a blue JITB straw. (you get them free with purchase of an oreo cookie shake. (well worth the $5 investment)

i try to stay away from flex straws and crazy straws. while it makes for a nicer display, it is much more difficult to factor in "straw head".

sump w/bio balls, plumbed with quiet 6000 return.

might get a large cannister for mechanical filteration...

hang on for reef tank.

IC,...IC,...
Duly noted...;)
I wonder if the "JITB" is similar to the infamous "FDSS" as seen in the 1994 hit,
"Pulp Fiction", used by John Travolta, when he sampled the "chocolate shake"
