woops i meant FX5 im retarded sorry haha

yeah johnptc has fx5's are new for 175.00 + shipping but he's in california and I don't know if he'll ship to canada..

Multiple canisters are needed on such a large tank. 2 FX5's would be good. 1 Containing a small amount of mech, and the rest all Bio. Then the other FX5 filled with mostly mech and some Bio. IF you have messy fish. Otherwise, having more bio is better. What fish are you planning to stock it with?

Eheim makes the 2260 cannister which is rated for tanks to 400 gal and pushes 500 gph. Plug and play.

I have a Hozelock pond filter on my 150 and it is rated for a 500 gal pond. I rarely have to mess with it and my params are always good. I have to run and external pump but hey, I got the whole setup for a steal.

Wow....did John buy a bulk lot or something?
What's the usual retail on one in the US anyway?

I live in a rental apartment and use a sump and have no problems. I put old towels down when changing the filter pads. But the FX5 and an internal power head with a sponge would be the next best thing.
