Fluval 404: Stock foam in the upright carrier, in the first two media baskets, I cut blue foam filter pads to shape and put those in, makes it easier to clean, top two baskets Fluval Biomax.
Fluval 403 (most under-rated filter ever, this thing pumps a ton of water and just never gives any problems) stock round foam, blue filter pads cut into circular shapes to fit, stacked 7 high, Fluval biomax.

Biomax that's it I don't use the chemical media unless I am trying to rid my tank of meds. If you keep up with water changes I don't feel any other chemical media is needed. However I would be interested in trying some of the new resin media like the fluval lab series.

the lab series is good i had a phosphate developement and whip bam boom fluval corrected my mistake.... purigen is great as well evryone please try this stuff you will be amazed i promise
