  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ok cool...so what feeds into the tank? you know what i mean...like how does it get what in and out of the tank...i tried googling but could not find pictures

ok scratch the last question lol...what do yall thinking about buying two marineland hob filters for hte mean time until around xmas when i can get one form the rents for cmas. let me know if yall think this is a bad idea

2 AC110 would be good. Unless you got a messy fish like Oscar or Plecos...But I highly suggest 1 large canister filter like an FX5, I have one for a 68G and it's the <beep>....It's a pain to do maintenance on though. You can get them for like $300 bucks on EBay shipped.

IMHO it's a far cry from having to do painful maintenance...

For me...

I drain 5 gallons out of the tank to prevent from an accidental overflow then I shut the valves, disconnect the intake, open the output side and look down the intake side until the water is no longer visible. I then shut the output side off and unplug the FX5. To the bathroom as now it only has less then a gallon of water, i then just replace the coarse filter pad and if my water needs to be polished i put the polishing pad in on the bottom tray. Reconnect the intake hose and open it slowly to fill the FX5 (gravity feed) listen for the gurgle then slow the flow down until you see the water in the column tube. Connect the outflow side and open the valve about a quarter of the way, plug in the FX5, once the big rush of air comes out then slowly open the output valve all the way. I take no responsibility if you try it the way i do it and fail. FYI i spill no more then 2-3 drops of water this way.

fluval fx5 or ac 110 and a fluval 405. or a sump/ wet/dry if ya like it like that. for me its the ac110 and 405 great combo!
