What filter should I buy next? Please help!?!? 75 Gallon

Personally I'd go with an AC110 when the fish grow a bit. They are rock solid filters that withstand the test of time. Also much easier to clean than canister filters imo.

I've been looking at the AC110. It's around $80. The SunSun/Aquatop canisters are about the same price. With that considered, would you still recommend the AC110? Just wondering?? And If so, why? I"m still pretty new to this.

While the ac110 is a superior filter, I own one, the aqueon 75 is only $29. You can use cut out blue filter media instead of buying cartridges. Its rated at 400gph, 100 less than ac110. If money is tight I recommend it. I have 2 of them currently.

EITHER one will work fine.. lots of room in the AQUEON to customize ,also

I actually have a 400 and a larger 3 tray Sunsun canister running on my 75gal right now.

I personally have not used the SunSun, so I cannot speak specifically about that product. I run two AC110'S and a Marineland C-360 canister on my 120. I find the AC110 much more maintenance friendly. I strictly use the canister for bio media and the AC110 for mainly mechanical so I don't have to open the C-360 as often. Also, I have heard of more mechanical issues with canisters compared to the AC110. I have had both of my AC110's for about 8 years with zero issues. Have heard of others lasting 20+ years.

the ac 110 is pretty much "bullet proof" (unless you drop it).. can't really go wrong with it ,,,, it really is a canister that hangs on the tank ...there isn't a med. size can that performs any better, imo

2 aqueon 75s still are $20 cheaper than one ac110, combined higher flow rate, maybe same media holding space due to the ac design, plus you get to have that back up filter in the case one fails. Being an owner of both filters, I'd definitely go for the 2 aqueon 75s and have money left over.
