I do not think that certain fish need to be banned; I just think that certain fish should not be sold in pet stores but through private breeders. I just think that most newbies will not bother going through the trouble just like they do not bother with the research. Or perhaps drive the prices up on certain fish.

I worked in a fish store for some time; what you are talking about is a very small percent. While fish like Discus or larger cichlids were $40+ (which may seem like nothing to some MFK members) but that really kept most people away as they simply do not care enough and know the fish will die and they will have to get a new one in a couple of weeks.
