Ok seriously guys. I hear so many threads about things like this, and its sickening and totally wrong. You shouldn't keep any living being in a tiny 1 gallon or 5 gallon, (unless its like a 5g grow or whatever) or however small of a tank like that. I mean, how would you like being stuck in a small box your for your WHOLE freaking life. I'm sure it wouldn't be very nice.

Call this spam or whatever but im just trying to make a point. If your going to keep fish, buy a reasonable sized tank with proper filtration to make their lives as happy as possible. I mean after all, isn't that what you do for your cats/dogs or children? (lol that sounded kinda funny and wrong :o)

I agree. Some people tell me I am crazy for keeping bettas in a nice size tank, with a filter and heater, they tell me they dont need that the LFS has em in tiny bowls. I say they don't need it like you don't need good air and space to live?

I think if you take it upon yourself to care for an animal, fish, dog, cat whatever it is you should be responsible enough to give the animal the care it deserves.

thanks for wasting 30 sec of my life

Hey I'm not making you to read or reply to my thread, if its wasting your time then feel free to leave it :)

Hey I always understock my tanks. How about 3 adult 6 inch filament barbs and 1 10 inch L-114 pleco and 1 8 inch pleco in a 6 ft. tank. All 5 of these fish are very active water is crystal clear.

Threads like this get done about once a month. Everyone knows it's wrong some do it, some don't.

What's that hamster shoving into it's mouth?

That doesn't make any sense, there is absolutely nothing wrong with using 1 or 5 gallon tanks. There are plenty of animals that would do just as well in a 1 gallon as they would in a 100 gallon. And almost any fish that is under 3" would be fine in a 5 gallon for life. Also, most of the people who say it is cruel to put a betta in a 1 or 2 gallon are hypocrits because most of the same people keep other fish in tanks that are proportionately about the same size (as far as the amount of room the fish has to move around in), for example a dovii in a 240 gallon, or a severum in a 40 gallon breeder, so what makes having a betta in a 1-2 gallon so different?
