What Fish Do you OWN that has the MOST Personality?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a big fat dalmation mollie that thinks she's a monster fish! she bullies everyone but is so funny when I come up to the tank. she's no flowerhorn or red devil, but she's got loads of personality.

yeah, he is pretty awesome but it does get annoying while trying to get pellets to my pleco or oscar.... he will eat 20 before either of the others even get a single one. I have named him cartman as in the character from South Park because of how rude and fat he is. lol.
somehow you must keep him busy.. maybe give him a piece of crunchy carrot while you feed the others.. also there are these big tongs.. you can put their food on the bottom maybe hide it in a cave for them.. i use these and they work well.....

The baby pima I sold my friend PAT..... he ate anything out of my hand so gental begged like a dog and let me pet him! Followed me around the room in his tank!

Hi

Didn't want to start a whole new thread just for my first post. I am now finally ready to again pick up the hobby that I had left for about 6 years. I had started fishkeeping about 11 years ago, and had successfully kept a variety of fish including what I consider my most favourite: arowanas, snakeheads, gars, giant gouramis, so-called tankbusters. Unfortunately, I had to leave home in 2000 to pursue further studies and suffice to say, my fish did not survive my departure.
I now have a few tiger barbs just to get my feet wet first and re-learn the basics, and have been preparing a 60 gallon tank for a juvenile silver arowana that is still in the shop.
I have to say the most personable fish I have had (both of which are now in that big fishbowl in the sky) is a 15" snakehead and a similar-sized giant gourami. These two would follow me left-to-right, and right-to-left as I passed their tanks, but wouldn't bat an eyelid for anyone else. They would also hover at wherever I would be sitting/standing for my daily dose of fish interaction. This pales in comparison to what I've read some fish can do in this thread, but it gave me great pleasure nonetheless to see how colorful their personalities can be.

the most personable fish i own is Tubby my female midas. she begs for food, gets jealous when you touch the tank at another fish, comes to your finger when you tap the glass and she is great with tankmates as long as they stay out her little spot and leave the spirulina pellets until she gets her fill, she just pushes the bichirs out of her cave without actually biting. if your not fast enough with the pellets she splashes you.
she never attacks your hand even if you go near her while cleaning but she despises the pond pump i use for water changes. she smashes it against the side of the tank in a fit of rage.

My 12" jag. He's funny because he hates everyone especially my kids. My juvie flowerhorn is coming in at a strong second. Definitely the least timid juvie cichlid I have ever kept!!

It' nothing compared to what it used to be but I am still proud of it.
