I'd buy it for $70, where was it?

$40 for a 3.5-4" Geophagus Jurupari. I knew it was a Satanoperca Leucosticta though, but he was a nice one and all by himself.

I paid $25 for a battered 2" albino senegal. Put him in my QT tank and nursed him back to health. Totally worth it

300 bills for an 8 inch L-114 cactus pleco. If you factor in the $105 for shipping he cost me a total of $405. I would do it again in a New York minute. Anybody have a large L-25 to sell? Have cash will pay. LOL

this happens to me a lot.

my LFS does get nice good quality fish in but often they are overpriced.

eg. they just got in some geo brasiliensis a fish that I have been looking for for a long time, but they were priced at $20 each and they are babies! I passed..

however, most of the time I just pay it.

I figure if I pass it up now, I will regret it later. better to buy quality when it is available (even if you pay a bit much) than to pass on the opportunity and then not see good quality fish for months and wish you had just bought them.

most recently, it was my trio of redhooks in my 150. they are beautiful specimens, but at the time when I got them (last december) they were priced at $70 Canadian for the trio. which was pretty high for the size that they were IMO..

but I don't regret getting them one bit.
