72 would be good tank for a few Africans. It's just small enough to not be able to keep many of the "monsters" you may be tempeted to get, but just big enough to keep Africans. In a 72 you would need to purposefully overcrowd in order to keep violence down, which also means extra filtration. Buy small and watch them grow up into beautiful bright jewels!

I don't think I'd do a BGK in a 72. That's just my opinion though. If you want something similar but smaller there is a brown ghost knife (apteronotus leptorhynchus) which I think max out at 12", while the black is 20".
