What fish to add for COLOR ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I like the parrot idea, and the midevil - have two Synos already - but what are some colorful loaches?
Rams - a little too sensitive for me.

I second rainbows they come in different sizes and colors. Rams are cute and colorful but be careful with tankmates. Killies, gudgeins, rainbow darters, some larger tetras with color red serpaes, columbian, you mnow the taller kind no ling and skinny.

Blood Parrot Cichlid. These fish are really great and bright and social. My kids love mine. If you add just one to a tank he will become the center of attention in the tank. Mine will sit at the front of the tank trying to get attention from any passerby... totally smart and will eat from my hand. Knows my voice and rushes to greet us and follows us from side of tank to side of tank when we walk through room. Very laid back not too aggressive and gets to be about 8". They are BRIGHT ORANGE. Lovely really. Monster size and color with CUTE bubbley personality. :)

African cichlids r ur best bet IMO, you can make a community tank with lots of colour like yellow labs and acei with some german red peacocks or auloncara baenshi, a frontosa tank with altolamprologus calvus, tanganyka community with cyprichromis and neolamprologus leleupi etc.. there r so many colorful fish to chose from the african cichlids. If u want smth from the new world u have the xingu pikes which r red, EBJD is blue, discus come in variety of colours, Vieja species also come in variety of colors like for example Vieja Synspilum.

Green Terrors :)

I'm sold on a parrotfish - so that's one down. Yes, you're right, Glofish would be easy snacks for everybody. I do have one gold-dust / half black molly - I had a beautiful red Tux sword, too, but she ended up dead - and don't know why, or who did it. (She was big and beefy.)
Any more fish - almost all the suggestions are silvery/gray BASED, which I'm avoiding.
Thanks!
