Not all braids are created equal.. I had the exact same problems with my baitcasters when using Berkeley fireline.. Switched to power pro and no problems at all.. I have power pro on all my reels except my ultra lights. I use stren magna thin on those.

Agreed 50-80 pound power pro user here for years. Recently just changed my line after 4-5 years of use. Best casting line I have ever used. And its a plus if you fish in rocky places that where snags are abundant. I would rather lose my hook, sinker, and swivel than having my line get cut short over time.
