Thats the problem with translators. They give you one meaning of evry word but not the sense of the entire sentence. They do not care about the syntax of the specific language as well. German places the words of a sentence in different positions than in english. Translators do not care about that. Thats why professional interpreters translate the texts and the UNO does not simply push them through google.

Yeah germany has been riding on the United States coat tails with your wimpy army and get rich off other coutnrys while our soldiers die. Germanys army is nothing but a peace keeping misson. You talk about downfall constantly? Just how old are you if I may ask?
Germany needs no army at all. Its one of the most powerful economies. No one would attack a country that is able to build weapons within hours which can blow up entire nations. That your soldiers die is your governments fault, not germany. I´m 25 years old. And i believe, that wars (if necessary...) are won with technology. Soldiers are so 15th century.
So Germany is littered with advanced manufacturing facilities that are tooled, stocked, and staffed with trained workers that just sit around idly just in case they need weapons of mass destruction? Then if the need arises they will begin to produce the most powerful weapons the world has ever seen at a rate that would put the most efficient automobile plants to shame? Lets pretend this little fantasy was real, do you honestly believe other countries would have no idea that they existed and dont already have missles aimed at these locations?
You're missing the point bbortko, the counterstrike missiles would be manufactured and fired BEFORE the other guys missiles landed....

I know that the US is not the top dog anymore. We are holding onto a history that is pumped down our throats in pneumatic tubes to create a sense of power with the philosophy that if the people feel unstoppable, isn't that half the battle? It goes back to psychology and sociology. Evolution and "science" have very little to do with it. Maslow's need hierarchy. The US doesn't feel the need to focus on things like food and shelter anymore. We have let ourselves become too concerned with the latest fashions and reality TV and Spongebob. We are a falling empire. We know this. We know our politicians care very little for the state of our nation. An effort would be made if they did. They, too, are sucked into the top of the triangle. We know that we are going to fall hard and fall soon. But you don't need to rub it in our faces. But its not only the US showing those signs. They are practically worldwide....

I've never lived in Gernany; however, I don't see what a "wimpy army" etc. has to do with the point the OP is making...the US military has been engaged in wars with 3rd world countries for the last 40 years. As for education, look at the surveys where US citizens can't pass the US civics naturalization test. That's shameful, no surprise the US is falling behind in education.

After ww2 germany was dematilarized- Meaning no army/ but the US will step in and help all these little countries should they get in trouble. We send tons and tons of foreign aid to all these other countries which saves them money and allows them to concentrate on building their economies.. This is what germany and japan did after ww2 pump money into economy and not worry about their milatary. We send money in fo. reign aid all over the world and never get any repayment. No wonder we are freekin broke. See how much we send to the Middle East and they hate us. This is how people can ride on air conditioned roads in the desert with the Taliban well seeded in the country. Right arabic emirates?

...just busting chops man, for a year in you're doing good. I think it's safe to say the world is different than it was when my grandpap was shooting his way through the Germans. Desire and need fuels action and today is alot more sugar coated. Hence the drive is failing, in many regards. But to those who have that inside drive, everything is at their finger tips.
