+1 they also(politicians)try and get you to believe the american dream is getting rich(they use the term soon to be well off). how about paying a LIVING wage for an honest days work instead of as little as legally possible

Of course i understand, that a general low education level can lead to better control over the masses. But it can also lead to a complete meltdown. Just look at egypt. Mubarak was notorious to deny most of his people a proper education. That worked for more than 30 years but then it failed. It was Nasser who said he needs uneducated masses for his army.
