What happens at night

My cuckoo catfish are crazy at night. They still try to jump out of the tank. Their wild caught so my guess is they think if they jump out theyll be back in the wild.
My obese featherfin catfish is kinda active at night. More so in the day though. All my cichlids are so far asleep they just look out of it. Especially my dempsies. My parrot fish takes awhile to fall asleep, he likes to patrol at night.

My old 10" tig would be nice during the day. And once all the lights where out and yes even my tv was off. (tanks in my room) He would come out and destroy/eat any new fish I had in. I literally would have a light on 24/7 and he wouldn't bother any one but once the room was completely dark he would go on a rampage.

Does anybody else's fish stay calm and peaceful in the day time but when the lights go out start to fight or anything?

YES, they used to... It was hard to fall asleep, one night I even slept with the bright tank light on. Then I took that nasty cichlid back
