What happens when you guys tell strangers about your tank?

My teacher sometimes calls me a fish nerd even though I only know so much they think I am overeducated about fish while I think they are undereducated about fish
Me too people don't even believe that I have something as small as a 50. It sure is frustrating also there is only one guy in the school who knows something about fish and his favourite fish is a platy so you can see the prob there. Some of the guys think it's cool but most of the girls ignore the fish thing unless it has something with a ampriphion ocellaris (not sure if I spelt it right) which I need to translate into the infamous fish "Nemo". It sure is frustrating at times but when the guys ask me why I spend so much money on fish I ask them why they spend so much money on their pets or toys.
When I talk even to my dad about my tanks he just says "mm hmm". My mom luckily knows a good bit about them but she would never have any tanks unless I motivated her, she just supports my hobby. ANY kid at school I talk to about tanks has no idea at all what I'm talking about, biggest tank somebody else in my history class has is like a gallon. I have pretty much no friends my age (that I see in person) that are obsessed with tanks sadly.

Not just this but some other bad things listed in here are being somewhat common people are being meaner to fish hobbyists these days.
When I tell people I have a 90 gallon tank their eyes get all wide then when I tell them my fish is bigger then my hand their jaw generally drops a little
