As this is a forum bursting with useful info and advice I'd like to dedicate a thread to all the great little pearls of wisdom you have picked up here. As we all know this is an ever evolving hobby where there is something new to learn every day so lets hear some of the best ideas, advice, tips, or just great info you have gathered on this forum. Who knows maybe you can share some info here that'll help someone else out .

Ill start. It wasn't long ago that I thought filtration was either a canister, internal filter or a basic sump(and I didn't even know how to set up a sump). Now I have all sorts of ideas in my head for my next tank and some of them are ingenious! Such as radial flow separators, bakki showers and bead filters. Thank you fellow mfkr's for all the advice.

Learned tons, but my favorite lesson is im not alone. When everyone around me says im insane for the pets I keep I find solace knowing I can go on here and feel at home :screwy:
 
Almost everything I know about fishkeeping!

Seeing what everybody has done with their monster tanks and asking questions helped me make the leap from a 36 gallon tank to a 300 gallon tank. Couldn't have done it without you, MFK!!

Before mfk I used to do 100% water change every week in my first 20 gallon tank ( it has 8 fantail goldfish), not knowing anything about tank cycling...

Addendum:
Thinking about buying an rtc is a sin. Unless you have a lake for it. Lol
Seriously Mfk opened my eyes to fish I never would have dreamed of. And priceless knowledge. Back when Mfk first started there was only a small fraction of info online about fish in this hobby and availability of species we keep. This forum and hobby have come along way.
