Also iv learned that a dovii is very much not suitable for a 120g no matter how much the guy selling them tells you it is! Tbh without mfk I'd be doing pretty much everything wrong, and yeah sometimes the differing opinions get heated but its all good fun:)

No matter how seemingly bad the combination of tank mates, someone on here has made it work for in the long run.

I put half a dozen bull minnows QT'd for 3 weeks in low brackish into my RBP tank for feeders early this spring. Four were devoured within days. The last two interact daily with thwe RBP's and will tug on pieces of tilapia fillet while the piranha are shredding/ crewing it right from their toothy mouths.

I've learned how to identify and sex a ton of different cichlids now. Because of it the owner at our local fish store has asked me to stop by and ID some of the donations he gets.

A member here provided insight on Nicaragua cichlids that quite possibly have saved my java fern plants in my tank. And I have 30 of those plants I just planted.

According to a book, two LFS and others they go well with plants, but he warned me of their nibbling on java ferns in his tank.

So I rethought which fishes I get, and I'm rediscovering certain community fishes because of it and i think it will suit my tank better.

Learned more as well, but this really stand out for me, as I was hell bent on nics and geo's.

So big thanks to him, could be a she when I think about it.

I just assume people on a forum about fishes are males..for whatever reason.

That Petsmart and Petco aquatic section employees are the most knowledgeable people ever! Lol.
Just kidding, I’ve learned that I have a support team like no other at my fingers tips. They are always willing to give good advice and guidance. Thanks MFK!!!
