anything special needed to breed kuhliis? I've never even thought of breeding mine. My girlfriend has always wanted seahorses. I didn't know they could be bred in aquaria. Maybe I'll have to give it a try..

The Kuhlii breeding was actually unintentional. It was back in the 1980s when UG filters were still popular. The adults traveled down the lift tubes, and spawned beneath the filter. The first hint I got was when I started seeing half inch loaches in the tank. I plan on setting up a 20-long in the near future and ordering in some more kuhliis, and trying to deliberately spawn them. I plan on setting it up with a sand bottom and thick leaf litter.

The dwarf Seahorses were kept in a species tank containing 10 adults, and allot of Macroalgae as hitching posts. Keep the current to a minimum, and have a good source of live brine shrimp.:)

thank you for all the great info. I read online how to breed kuhlii's after your post but it looks like the ideal pH for them was 7.2. My pH is 8. I suppose I could try it but I don't think it's worth setting up a tank for kuhlii's if it's not a sure thing.

currently working on my Green Terror and Red Parrot Pair.

The Red Parrot is always spawning and laying a large amount of eggs but the green terror doesn't seem to fertilize all of the eggs. Has anybody had a problem similar to this?

I've had lots of fish that were unable to fertilize eggs. Sometimes they were both females though. Other times they were unfertile or just terrible at fertilizing eggs. I've had purebred fish ruin 5 batches of eggs and get it 100% right on the 6th time. Keep trying if you still have faith.
