What heater controller are you using?

Never had an issue with mine.

Did you seal the sensor? I was told a long time ago that you had to silicone the sensor otherwise water intrusion may cause issues. Perhaps that's your failure mode.

I was wrong. Thought it was Ranco, but it's Jehmco. Runs a half dozen 300 watt heaters.

If it is the rectangular white one from Jehmco, then it is a Ranco. They are factory re-labels.

I run AquaLogic NEMA X4 digitals on everything. I love the control it gives. They are very accurate and take a beating (indoors and outdoors).

That looks just like the Jehmco (rRanco) that I have minus the altered temp sensor. They must have corrected the issue.

Looks just like mine as well, except being a cheap hillbilly I bought the one that needed wired, then just used a surge bar.

Mine went all crazy like that, sent it back to Jehmco and they sent me a new one - it was the sensor that got water into it and made the readings go haywire. I don't remember what temp mine read, but it was up there, like 130. They put shrink wrap around the sensor and it works great now.
