What heater controller are you using?

Sounds like we all use the same re-brand.

just slap your own sticker over the name and voila!

Vamptrev - if you have the metal sensor try shrink wrap tubing or silicone over the whole thing, plus some of the wire. You may not have to buy a new one.

I control mine with my apex. Allot of other setting can be put into place for watching heat as well. Really like it overall. You can buy modules to control multiple systems as well. But I'll agree with anyone a good amount of money up front but we'll worth the while is you use it. Other nice part is that it will text me and email me to keep me informed about what is going on, really nice to get a notification when something comes up.

Same here Apex. Can control it from anywhere in the world that has internet. Sends emails if something goes wrong. You can check stats (Temp, PH) thru out the day or keep track for week to months thru graphs. Can set it up to start fans or turn of lights if temp gets to high. Run a ATO. The list goes on and on. The Apex light isn't too badly priced.

I've been using the Finnex HC-800 and MAX-300 for nearly a year. So far, very satisfy with the products

Same finnex systems at my spots

So what is the best way to water proof the probe? Just wipe some silicone on it? It wont effect the temp reading?

The replacement they sent me had shrink tubing over the probe and a little up the wire. The tubes look like a straw, hold a lighter under it to shrink around the probe.
