Nice Spotfin. I'd be interested in what your findings are.

I caught 3 after work yesterday, but there getting tagged with some beer batter for dinner.

Nice fish Harley! We tagged 14 last year, as of last week 3 had returned. Four were picked up on receivers in the Delaware River this winter (and one of these 4 returned up here a few weeks ago).

I don't eat fish so release all, but I hear striper is good. I think the smaller ones would be more healthy.

I'd say some of them might make their way down here in the spring for breeding season. They are our state fish and our pride and joy.

I even named my boat the Beautiful Rock (aka Rockfish - Striped Bass).

Nice looking boat! We're trying to find breeding fish up here. Later in the summer we conduct a seine survey and occassionaly catch fingerling stripers.

Somedays I can't believe I get paid to do what I do:WHOA:

is this the freshwater striper or the saltwater type? i always get confused w/ those 2

We catch the saltwater type up here, but in freshwater as they migrate up rivers. Stripers are anadromous (live in saltwater but spawn in freshwater) but some populations have been acclimated to live their entire lives in freshwater for sportfishing. The one I caught in the picture above came from the ocean, although it was caught in a river about 65 miles from the ocean.

then wats the point of lmb if stripers are even more agressive than them, taste better, and get bigger?
