Alright so recently the past few days I have lost two fish. My Thai silk has passed away. And I don't know why happened to him but his face was messed up. There was no other fish there to attack him or anything. Then today I lost my female. Was perfectly fine last night then all of a sudden today I wake up to a dead momma. And then I also today I look at the male he is fine. I go downstairs. And ten minutes later he's got a gash on him. Kinda random. But then I come home a few hours later. And now there's white stuff coming out of the cut. What in the world is going on?!?!

Sorry for your loss. I've experienced this before, however I don't know what it is. This happened to me when I received fish that were in poor living conditions. Check your water parameters. Do a large water change(50%+) and add salt. 1 table spoon per 5 gallons. Good luck.

yea i was doing water hangs cause i had the eggs in the tank and then i added salt because of the ich i had for awhile. thanks for the advice water.

Too much water out at one time may cause ich due to drastic change in temp & too much new water may burn out their gills from the chemicals from tap water. Notice any coating of slime on their bodies? They'll try to scrape any irritants off any way they can even which may cause that thai silk's injuries. Are you only using salt to treat ich? Nox-Ich works for me.

How are those eggs looking? I wouldn't do water changes with eggs present. I'd remove eggs into another tank, if I know they've been fertilized, using same water from tank they came from.

Hope they recover. Good luck.

I was using salt to to treat it and it was okay. And yea I was only doing maybe 20% water changes. And the eggs hatched and have been in another tank for about a week. This all has happened After the eggs hatched and all

Too much water out at one time causes ich huh? Guess all my fish should getting sick because I do 90% water changes. There's also a thing called dechlorinators that remove the harsh chemicals from tap water.. If the parents are dying in the same tank as the eggs, I'd be more worried about improving the water quality than anything else.
