What is a 12" GATF worth?

Whoa, whoa, whoa... R1s GATF did get punked by his Armatus, but I GAURANTEE you it would not be the case with a 15"+ GATF. At that size, you're dealing with a totally different fish. Its seems they finally figured out what they are capable of and begin to kill tankmates. I'm saying this from experience. I raised a GATF from 5" to 19" before I sold it two yrs ago. Once it passed the 15" mark, it attacked killed a couple of VATFs ranging in size from 14-16", 10" Frontosa, 9" Hap, and ate a handful of 6" Tinfoil barbs.

Dorado would almost certainly whoop on an Armatus any day of the week. Aimara would kill anything you put in with it, lol.

Time will tell... Im about 3" away and i am starting to see my Goliath rush other tankmates but no actual wounds (yet). He mainly rushes my Gold Wolf and the wolf just stops in mid-water and floats to the floor.
He does it here and there not all the time, but I do see it a lil more

Thats crazy.. I wonder if it's just mid level swimmers or Aro's ect... Or Just everything (I hope not) Cant have a monster tank with out Tigrinus

I think I remember seeing your post and the school of atfs. Was your thread with the Barb chopped in half from a GATF? and a pic of a NICE SIZE vatf that also fell to a GATF??

Yes, those were casualties of my old GATF.

Woody seems to have OK luck with his Armatus /GATF combo and that GATF is HUGE..... way over 20 inch if I remember correctly. Dorado..... you got me. I've heard they are mean but I've also seen monster sized ones kept with the likes of Aros with no problem. You ask me it all boils down to not only the tank size and the personality of the fish but the way the owner raises the fish. Add all those things and a little pinch on the arse from lady luck and who knows what you can mix together........... Never know till you try.

I have to agree with you on the last line, there are exceptions. However, in most cases of people keeping Dorados, they kick everyone else's arse, especially if the others are even mildly aggressive and ever pick a fight!

As far as mixing GATF with Armatus, its only my opinion, but just not a good idea if you really care for either. It could work out for some time, years even, then one day/night, one gets a wild hair up its one know what, and you could have a dead awesome rare fish. Not worth it IMO.
