What is a cheap way to get moonlighting on a 125g?

Is this just for fun or you need the moon lighting. Cheap blue led Christmas lights.

It's to see the nocturnal fish at night. I went ahead and ordered the above kit. Now to make a canopy to place it in..

If you were planning on making a canopy anyways, go for it!

If its just to hide the leds, there's no reason to; depending on your existing lights. Mine fit right inside/underneath of the existing t5 housings my tank lights were in. Just set them up on the glass covers and put your lights right on top of them. :)

Post up some pics when you get everything up and running!

Here are the moon lights on the brightest setting.. It is not this bright in person, just the camera..

I have marine land LED lights on my 125 gallon, 3 24" ones. Can't remember exactly what they cost but not expensive by any means. Not nearly as great of a day light light I was hoping for but my ballast for my T12's had **** out on me decided to down grade for a bit since I don't have any plants or anything. Anyways, I only leave the center one on for the lunar light and that's plenty at least for me. I'd be happy to take a picture if you'd like.

Looks good , I see now why you are planning to build a canopy.
