The convicts breed like rabbits from my understanding and guppies are not that difficult either. Both pretty much need water and a male and female fish. Don't know about making money on them though. Maybe trade for fish food or something at you LFS. You could also sell them as feeders to people with larger predatory fish. I see lots of people using guppies and cons as feeders for their fish.

the problem with this is that convicts have almost zero trade-in value at LFS...on the other hand, if you breed some nice fancy guppies you can at least get some store credit or trade in for minor supplies

you should ask a fish store where they know u what they are willing to buy. Woud suck if ur stuck wit alot of fry no on wants.

Also guppies are great, use the twenty for the breeders and put all the fry you can collect in the 8. Remember in order to continue the "strain" you have to eh em remove culls.

you could breed some snails in that 8 gallon tank....

Hmm, try some endlers strains or beautiful fancy guppy strains or any colorful livebearers. LFS wants colorful fish, not dull fish like convicts or mosquitofish. Tiger platies are awesome and I got new strain called Tiger Wag platies.

dawg ur gonna b in my spot pretty soon
2 convicts= 1000000000000 FRICKIN BABIES THAT NOBODY WANTS!!!!
lol ya im hopin if i grow my convicts out 2 n inch they will at lest b taken by sum1!

Do u think thatmy lfs wud give me store credits for my cons?
Idk if killies wud breed
I have a male and 2 females and nothing ever happens

fancy guppies would be my bet...as long as you feed them and keep there water decent then they do all the work for you. and the fry tend to stay away from the filter. but to make sure i would use a sponge on the intake tube. i started with 3 1m and 2f now i have like 30 to 40 of the lil guys and they are all full grown now but there are lil ones that pop up from time to time still. i gave alot of them away
