Hmm. I have never had success with chemicals against aptasia.

Everytime you disturb them they launch out a million new youngsters.

The only thing that ever worked for me was peppermint shrimp.

+1 here. I have 2 in my 30g and within 2 weeks all the aptasia have disappeared. It was just one in the tank when I first set it up then it became 10... Peppermint shrimp ate them all

A good source of info that was given to me (from a member on this forum) is http://www.chucksaddiction.com/hitchhikers.html

I would NEVER use chemicals to fight algae, aptasia, etc. All your doing with chemicals is killing the result of some problem. The reason your having these pest (algae especially) is because your doing something wrong with your tank and you need to find out what it is. Aptasia needs to be dealt with one at a time..dont let those buggers spread

+1 to this...except...its really hard for a human to do anything about aptasia because as you pull them, they shoot out millions of new little babies.

This is why the peps over time I think are the best solution.

Do you physically pull them out? Im just wondering because when you inject them with the boiling substance, the just seem to curl up and die. I only get aptasia when I introduce new LR. Does this mean that the injection method doesnt allow them (atleast in my case) to spew spawns?

When I was controlling manually by using aptasia x...I would kill the main ones, but pretty soon my tank was just filled with teeny tiny ones.

Every time they retract apparently they spout out new ones.
