What is a leichardti-arowana ?????

$300 spread over the lifetime of the fish and compared to the feeding/housing/maintenance costs is such a small amount that it is pretty much irrelevant, IMO. If it means you get a nicer looking fish that is going to co-exist with it's tankmates then it sounds like a bargain to me...

Agree 100%. $300 for a fish that can live 10, 15 years is a bargain.

The thing i like about aros are their snake like bodies. Dont get me wrong, im sure a fully grown jardini/lei is a beautiful fish. I just wouldn't ever own one. 300 for a fish is one thing. But I highly doubt that will be the only fish in the tank. You spend 100 here, 250 there, the next thing you know it cost 2000 dollars to stock a tank.

I definitely understand what you guys are saying. But just because it lives 15 years doesnt mean you pay 300 dollars over the course of 15 years.

Leichardti isn't for everyone, just like some rather buy a scomb instead of tatauaia or armatus cause it's cheaper. Others want something different, rarer than average so they go for it. Jardini is just as nice only problem is most are killing machines once they reach a certain size. Hopefully, the Leichardti isn't and can be housed with tankmates.

So far my baby lei is really mellow. I think he is a little afraid of the betta he resides with for now.

I had some small angelica loaches in the tank which he was eyeing, but he never touched. Now they have grown way too big for him. Actually out pacing his growth rate right now. My guy is a pretty aggressive feeder will jump out of the water to hit pellets while being dropped in.
