Fiishing area won't be more than 80 miles offshore. Not sure of the current coordinates, I know it is about 20 miles, West of San Clemente Island. It's called "Cortez Banks" in the Pacific to be specific.
 
a 28' boston whaler is the way to go. They are literally unsinkable, in one demo given by the company they chopped one into 4 pieces and all the pieces floated.

Yeah the boston whaler is a great boat i have seen another demo where the coast guard shoots 1 all to hell and it still floats.Thay are also used as navy seal boats for small clandestine squads i also like the carolina skiffs lots of room on those big boys but if u cut it up with the chainsaw or machine gun u are going in the drink.:grinno:
