I have had great success with Xtreme, but, I have with NLS as well. . . the 9mm Xtreme has been fantastic with the w/c large cichlids (like crenicichla) for converting off of live for me.

Here are the ing. straight off the label, pretty impressive!

I use grandsumo, Hikari Excel and krill.

I have to say they are all pretty good but the best I've found is Omega One. Can't beat it. I'm not going to copy the list but you can go to http://www.omegasea.net/index.html and see for your self.

My fish like it better than NLS and the main ingred. are better.

How do you reckon that the main ingredients are better than NLS?

IMO it's nothing more than a lower cost, lower quality knock off version of NLS. I'm certainly not saying that it's a horrible food, but won't find soybean meal, ground wheat, wheat middlings, or distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) in any NLS formulas.

xtreme and hikari work fine for me

some websites suggest a "quality pellet" what name brand would be considered quality?
Specifically looking for a pellet or flake for Satanopercain.

thanks,

Small sinking pellets are best for earth eaters. Any of the brands will do fine.

These threads seem to be pretty much all the same. Basically all anecdotal testimonials and opinions.

hey guys what about O.S.I products? my LFS sells this brand as his top range. However they aren't too famous on the web, wonder if im gettin ripped off :(

I agree. I mainly use Hikari (due to it only being $4.50 a bag at DrfosterSmith), but I used OmegaOne in the past. It's an awesome food with great ingredients. All my fished loved it (pellets and super color flakes). Plus, it was the fishy-est smelling food I have ever bought;actually smelled pretty good  (hence why my fished liked it). For the super color flakes, the first ingredients read : Whole Salmon

Too bad OmegaOne costs so much. Is there a reliable online store that offers Omegaone at a wholesell price?

Also someone mentioned Hikari Excel. That's an awesome food that I currently use. It's made specifically for African cichlids (herbivorous), but it contains spirulla algae, which tremendously brightness colors of all my cichlids.

If you have a vested interest in any particular food, like vendor or rep, you might mention that when you are recomending one food over another.

I recently received some of the large Xtreme, it seems good but I have used Hikari (massivore) for the last couple of years.
