What is a Red Texas?

Typically it is considered a Red Texas when it is a faded or red colored Texas with pearling which can because achieved through crossing in Amphilophus, Parrot, or Flowerhorn. The name gets thrown around for F1 fry but I don't personally believe all fry to be considered Red Texas, only the apparent ones. You don't really start seeing Red Texas until you are a few generation in, rarely will you have anything that could be considered Red Texas in F1. Then you have the issue of unfaded ones which depends on who you ask, some will consider them Red Texas while other don't.

Crossing any of the fish Chris mentioned with any specie of Herichthys is considered Red Texas. I don't consider them a red texas, unless they fade. Which they should once breed further down the line like Chris mentioned.
