What is a Red Texas?

Carpintis are called green texans. They're not true texans, but because it's longer to write 'True Texans and Green Texans' than 'Texans', that's what people choose to write when they speak about both. As they're similar to each other and has been lumped up in one before, hence why in certain cases (such as the creation of red texans), they're treated as one entity.

in my opinion a ture red texas is a make up of an escondido X with a rose queen that will fade after generations. red devil or midas or parrots or x with Carpintis or blue or green will produce low quality fish

the deep red comes from kkp or red mammons, typical red texas are bred with any carpintis or cyno with bp, midas/devil, etc, and are more of an orange color. Escondido, Chariel, Vontehillo, etc all the same fish with minor changes. They all come from the same location, just a few miles apart in different collection points.

So cjbarth's line of red texas aren't true red texas in your opinion...

Red texas suppose to be a texas cichlid or a carpinti that is red based. Faded or not as long as it's a red based cyano/carpinti (both R texas in hybrid world)..

I prefer an unfaded RT with red base because the pearls stay blue due non faded dark pigments. Faded texas got whit pearls because due to faded/loosing dark pigments..

But a red texas should carry the form and pearls of the texas or Carpinti and have red base..
