Yes, sagittae do pick up similar characteristics as labiatum.

Well the one at the store has the body of an african cichlid the fins of a labiatus and the face of a midas and the aggression of a beast. Its only 3 or 4 inches long and goes nuts every time i put my hand up to its tank. Unfortunatly its 30 bucks and i dont got the money right now.
 
They are sometimes called "Black Devils" and for a good reason..They, like all Amphilophus species can be very aggressive.

Believe that label is simply due to their black display - not any more aggressive than any other amp, with exception to lyonsi, which are milder in temper.

Should shoot a pic - I can't picture what you are describing. Alternatively, I don't see a "horseface" either. Should look like an open water predator - slendar, elongated shape.
