What is an cheap and easy way to lower Ammonia and nitrite?

I am looking for an easy and cheap way to lower my ammonia and nitrite levels in my tank. Any suggestions??

haha that would make sense. How offten shhould i feed then?? I usually only feed once a day..

Perhaps you're overfeeding them?

Usually you should just feed them what they'll consume in a few minutes time, then clear out the rest if there is any.

I'm assuming if you are still getting ammonia/nitrite, that your tank is new and in the cycling process?

How long has it been running now?

If it's a new setup, it's not finished cycling yet. Keep testing and doing waterchanges until they both are at zero. You should not keep many (or any) fish in a tank that's not cycled unless you have lots of live plants.

I do have alot of live plants lol and i am going to get more.
