What is best food for arowana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't mean to hijack this thread, but has anyone ever given their Arowana multi vitamins. I have a friend who swears that it works. He says that he feeds them to his Arowana twice a week, half a vitamin per fish. He snaps them in half and stuffs it into a smelt. He's never lead me a stray before, but I haven't done enough research into it to try it out. What do you guys think?

I figure if it's not a bad thing to do, I'd feed my fish some low dose Omega 3 fish oils. I figure salmons are loaded with them, giving them their bright red colors.

Where I'm from, some aro owners including myself add spirulina to their diet. I did notice my aro looked better when I was doing it. But it was a lot of work so I stopped. More important then diet, how you raise the aro will contribute more in how ur aro turns out. Esp for reds. If you dun tan them, no matter how great the genes, they will nv reach full potential.

Spirulina is a good idea. Do you use a tablet type of Spirulina?

Nope, powdered. We take out the amount we want, add a little water to make a paste, use a syringe to inject it into our feed (in my case cut market prawns). Yup Its a lot of work. The easier way is to marinate your feed with it, works too but it messes up the water a little for an hr.

is that just slices of tilapia? I mean I can go to Costco, get a package and separate a little for the Arowana and then make dinner for the fam. After dinner, get some of the uncooked tilapia and cut it up and the aro will eat it? Nothing special?

i have arowana too, i give shirmp market and beef cut small haaaaa, my aro very love eating, color very cool.
