I was looking for some tips to color up my SA/CA cichlids the best I can.

I have a 90G and 125G containing

125G
Green & Gold Severum
Nicaraguensis
Angels
Silver Dollars
Clown Loaches

90G
Oscar
Jack Dempsey
Salvini

My nic is starting to color up pretty good and am excited to see it go from
a average looking fish to something very nice.

hikari cichlid gold and NEW LIFE SPECTRUM is what i feed myn.

Your fish will color up with quality food but it also takes maturity. In cichlids you do not get that amazing color in juveniles..............patience.

Hikari Cichlid Gold will bring out the color in your Oscar and JD.

uh huh!

thats what i use to bring out my cichlids colors

i haven't tried NLS but i've had great results with HIKARI CICHLID GOLD and TETRABITS (for smaller fish), plus frozen/fresh krill and clean live food. also, you can bring out the best color/markings and condition of your fish by doing frequent partial water changes + general superior maintenance.

VARIED DIET and WATER CHANGES are key to color(and growth). I use krill, Hikari cichlid bio gold, Live food like earthworms or clean feeders, river shrimp(really any sort of crustacean will be loved by your fish and it will help color). And depending upon size of fish bloodworms, brine, tetra cyclopeeze granules, and if your fish will accept them, peas also are good.

Another good trick is to rub market shrinp in paprika(sp?) it's harmless, natural, and helps enhance colors...especially reds...in fish.
